Moscow most expensive city

Moscow is the world’s most expensive city for expatriates for the second consecutive year, according to the latest Cost of Living Survey from Mercer Human Resource Consulting. London is in second position, climbing three places since last year. Seoul moves down one place in the ranking to take third place, followed by Tokyo in fourth. Asuncion in Paraguay is the least expensive city for the fifth year running. read more...

Best places to raise a family in Britain

Readers Digest magazine in Britain asked parents from all over Britain for their opinion of what affects family life. The results came out in the current issue and may surprise you.

Just like most parents, they rate good state schools and hospitals, a low crime rate, affordable housing and high employment as their top priorities.

France is the best place to live

At least according to Ireland based, online magazine International Living.

There are also top marks for other European countries like the Netherlands, Switzerland (comes in third), Denmark and Luxembourg. Australia is second, followed by New Zealand. The top 10 is rounded out by Argentina (and not Belgium, as some leading Belgian newspaper would have you believe.) The list itself is tailed by Iraq.

France wins through a number of assets: the climate, although that really depends on where you are, the infrastructure, the countryside, the best healthcare system in the world. This last point is labelled as such by WHO.
